Description:
The Charivari was repeatedly sentenced to fines by the Court of Justice for ridiculing the oeuvre of Baron Pierre-Narcisse Guérin (1774-1833). The original painting was purchased by Louis XVIII in 1819 and can still be seen in the Louvre.
