Notice to N. Ward [Aug. 11, 1863] "West Cambridge August 11th 1856 To Mr. Nahum Ward, Sir, Complaint having been made to the Selectmen who are the Board of Health of the Town of West Cambridge by inhabitants of said town that a certain trade or employment is by you or your agents in said town which is dangerous to the public health and is attended by noisome and injurious odors and which causes said trade or employment to be injurious to to their estates. This is to forbid you or your agents to exercise said trade or employment or any other trade or employment which is a nuisance or hurtful to the inhabitants of said town or their estates or to the public health. You will further comply with the above order or you will be liable to the penalty prescribed by "An Act in relation to Offensive Trade" approved May 18th 1855 Chapter 391 and adopted by the Town of West Cambridge at a legal meeting of the inhabitants held Nov. 6th 1855.
