Title (alt.):
Charivari. INSIDE A PARISIAN BUTCHER'S SHOP. - Come on, have courage, my dear,..... I know it is tough to sell our beef as cheap as that..... but that's no reason to weep like a calf!......
Description:
The butcher's wife is crying because the Government had just passed a new law which controlled the prices and the weighing habits of butchers and grocers. From that point on they had to be honest businessmen, which both the butcher and his wife obviously regret deeply.
