Le THÉ FOIN. - Voici, monsieur, voici.... j'apporte une botte entière, monsieur, fera son thé lui-même aussi fort qu'il voudra.
Title (alt.):
HERBAL TEA. Here you are, Monsieur.... I thought I'd bring along the entire pack of hay so you can make your tea as strong as you like. (Note: play on words. "Avoir du foin dans ses bottes" literally translates: to have hay in one's boots. It also means: to be rich. "Botte" means boot, but also a pack of hay.). Charivari
Description:
A servant brings her employer some tea and a bale of hay. This is one of the very rare prints depicting a tea-drinker.
