Letter from Parker McCollester to Robert M. Lovett, March 3, 1928
Title (alt.):
Parker McCollester Letters
Robert Morss Lovett Letters
Description:
Parker McCollester was an American lawyer, who became a partner at Lord, Day and Lord in 1926. Prior to that position, McCollester had worked at the law firm Brandeis, Dunbar and Nutter as an Associate from 1914-1916. In his letter to the National Sacco-Vanzetti League, he indicates to Robert Morrs Lovett that he wishes to help bring change in regard to Massachusetts law. In particular, McCollester would like to bring to light the issues surrounding class prejudice. As the letter progresses, McCollester admits that he is not fully convinced that the goal of the League will bring innocence to Sacco and Vanzetti. Thus, McCollester declined an invitation to sit on the executive committee.
