Jean-Jacques Dubois, also known as Dubois d'Angers(1768-1845) was an officer and lawyer, who also became Attorney General at the Court of Angers. He was appointed counselor at the Supreme Court in Paris and presided a number of important Court cases. According to Provost, the print does not show "Dubois (flûtes) (Hippolyte Dubois), Hippolyte Abraham-Dubois, the Deputy of Avranches, but rather Jean-Jacques Dubois, the Magistrate and Deputy of the Maine-et-Loire region. The pun: "tu bois" meaning "you drink" refers to Dubois' drinking habit.
