Letter from Parker Pillsbury, Harwich, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1853 June 28th
Description:
Parker Pillsbury writes to Samuel May discussing locations he could be sent for future antislavery meetings. Pillsbury tells May he "can appoint meetings for the Sundays in July, as will best suit your pleasure," and suggests he could go to Newmarket. He also proposes Feltonville [Hudson] and Newburyport but believes that Daniel Foster may be leading meetings in both places. Pillsbury tells May to "select as you think will best subserve the cause." He reports that, in Harwich, he raised six dollars and "a subscriber (a good one) for the Liberator." Pillsbury also mentions his poor health, stating his "feet cold as clods, with mercury at 88."
