Note GAR insignia on hats, medals on jackets. Otis brothers were partners of Chester Sprague and Samuel S. Gleason in Watertown Land Company after the Civil War. This Company built Otisville, the Irving Park area and Whiting Park. They conserved White's Hill, known in 2012 as Whitney Hill in hopes that it would be preserved. They operated a dry goods business in Watertown Square and owned the Otis Block. Photograph taken in 1927. Ward M. Otis was the president of the Town Improvement Society, on the Board of Trade and a member of the Grand Army of the Republic , Isaac B. Patten Post. 81.
