Title (alt.):
ULYSSES AND PENELOPE. Chastely extended on their modest couch, This noble pair has finally been rejoined with bliss. And the great Ulysses snores, upon his charming mouth Penelope commits a loving kiss. (Light-hearted works by Mr. Vatout).. Charivari
Description:
Ulysses and Penelope are lying in a bed. Penelope is gazing at the sleeping Ulysses. We see Penelope in this print, grown older but still in love with the husband who just returned. He is sound asleep and snoring. Looking at him in this situation, it is hard to believe his heroic deeds after the Trojan war.
